Most people when travelling to the
Caledonian MacBryne (CalMac
for short) provide a quick 20 minute service from Mallaig on the mainland to Armadale in the south of Skye on
one of their modern fast ferries. We know by experience that it can be a little

(just south of Kyle of Lochalsh) to Kylerhea on Skye.
This little ferry takes no more than 10 minutes (and no more that 6 cars) to
cross over to Skye and marks the spot where the old road used to wind down the
mountains to the sea. Note: operates normally Easter October only.
